God gifted us with a new calendar year; for some, it is a period to reset and move forward. Jesus knows our limitations. He is cognizant of our limited resources. He is current with the system and its design to limit the upward mobility of the marginalized. In fact, scripture views Jesus as being a champion for the underdog, the oppressed, and the ostracized. Heaven empowers us to rest in God’s power and His willingness to grant us guidance. No one but the Lord can empower us to achieve and experience our dreams. We can experience the unlimited possibilities when we:
Stick to the Script.
Let the biblical principles of God’s word permeate and inundate your life. Pay attention in church, be active in a Bible study, and invest into Christian education materials. Let the scriptures guide and inform your decisions. Allow the scriptures to breathe life into you every day. The scriptures allow us to face our fears and move beyond uncertainty into divinely ordered opportunities. The scriptures communicate the impossibilities of God and His promises toward us.
Invest in Your Strengths.
Far too often, we invest in our weaknesses, practicing fourth and fifth tier gifts. We often overlook or negate our primary gifts, talents, or abilities. Spend this year investing time, energy, and information into your primary strengths. Your primary strengths are pleading for sharpening. Use your time wisely this year by reading books that will feed your dreams. In order to sharpen dormant skills, audit a class or attend a training session. Join professional organizations that will keep you abreast of the new trends in your industry or volunteer in an organization to gain appropriate experience.
Stay Determined.
When you face your fears, rejection is inevitable. People will not be eager to assist in building your dreams. You will make several phone calls, send e-mails, and make social media requests that will go unanswered. People who are enthusiastic in the beginning will become busy and detached from helping you as time matures. You will experience several long nights of asking yourself, “Why did I start down this path?” The art of experiencing unlimited possibilities is staying determined through the seasons of planting. Because you own your dreams, you own your ‘yes’. Use every ‘no’, rejection, and denial as a metric for evaluation and fuel to start again. Rise above the urge to abandon your dreams. Own your limitations and be empowered by God’s unlimited resources. The journey is long and arduous, but pack every day with the earnest pursuit of God’s best for your life. ■
