Joint Effort Produces Enormous Results!

Kudos to the Pioneer Valley Project, The Pastors’ Council of Greater Springfield, Greater Springfield, Massachusetts NAACP, the Divine Nine (D9) and the Springfield Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. for hosting the overwhelmingly successful At-Large City Council Candidate Forum on August 9th and the Mayoral Candidate Forum on August 16th where an estimated total audience, which included both in person and online viewers, approximated between 1,400–1,500 persons!
Following up on the success of the Candidate Forums, in an attempt to encourage voter turnout in this historic primary election, the group has initiated a Souls to the Polls event for Sunday, September 3rd at Springfield City Hall during Early Voting. If you happen to not be able to join them, you can still vote early up until Friday, September 8th (see page 5) and you can vote as usual at your regular polling place on Tuesday, September 12th. ■
