In the second of the two Springfield candidate forums held on August 16th at Mt. Zion Baptist Church and hosted by the Pioneer Valley Project, The Pastors’ Council of Greater Springfield, Greater Springfield, MA NAACP, the Divine Nine (D9) Fraternities and Sororities and the Springfield Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., all five Mayoral candidates attended and answered questions posed by moderators Springfield Honors Academy Principal Dena Cooper, Rev. Catharine A. Cummings, Pastor of Wesley United Methodist Church and Lezine B. Swan, UMASS 2023 Department of Architecture Graduate.
POV previously endorsed Justin Hurst for Mayor of Springfield in our August issue because of “our belief that he is superbly qualified to take Springfield into the future” . . . and because he “represents the change that Springfield needs.”
