SPRINGFIELD – On February 22, 2025, Blues to Green invites you to Fat Tuesday Jazz Night, a festive fundraiser featuring world-class performances, Creole/Cajun cuisine, and the joyful spirit of Mardi Gras. Held at 52 Sumner Avenue in Springfield, this event brings together music, culture, and community to support Blues to Green’s mission of fostering connection through the arts.
The evening opens with a performance by Broadway star Badia Farha, known for her captivating stage presence and vocal artistry. Badia, who currently stars in Alicia Keys’ Hell’s Kitchen, will present From Ella to Amy, a powerful tribute to female jazz legends, from Ella Fitzgerald to Amy Winehouse. Her blend of jazz, R&B, and soul is sure to captivate the audience.
Later in the evening, Samirah Evans and Her Handsome Devils will light up the stage with a dynamic set of New Orleans-inspired jazz, funk, and Mardi Gras music. A former staple of the New Orleans music scene, Samirah has shared stages with legends like Dr. John, B.B. King, and the Neville Brothers. Her vibrant energy and soulful sound promise an unforgettable celebration.
In addition to the music, guests will enjoy a feast of authentic Creole and Cajun cuisine, expertly prepared by Chef Wayne, formerly of the iconic Big Mamou restaurant in Springfield.
Fat Tuesday Jazz Night is more than an evening of entertainment—it’s a fundraiser supporting Blues to Green’s mission of providing free, high-quality arts programs to communities with limited access while promoting cultural and economic revitalization. From the Springfield Jazz & Roots Festival to the Legacy Education Project and Arts for Racial & Climate Justice, our initiatives bring people together, engage them in vital causes, and strengthen the heart of Springfield.
