JUSTIN HURST FOR MAYOR

Share this:

It should certainly come as no surprise to anyone that we endorse Justin Hurst for Mayor of Springfield. He is, after all, a “close” relative.
But that is not our primary motive for urging that you vote for him on or before September 12th. Our main reason for endorsing Justin is our belief that he is superbly qualified to take Springfield into the future. He not only has served Springfield for 10 years as a City Councilor, including two as City Council President, but before that he worked in several different capacities in the Springfield Public Schools as a teacher and an administrator—all while earning a law degree from Western New England University School of Law. And, as most know, he is not shy about speaking truth to power when necessary and when it is in the best interests of the people of Springfield as evidenced by the many important issues he has championed.
And Justin is one of the most sincere and honest politicians the city has had. He’s a likeable guy whose range of relationships is broad and representative of the entire city and he is tough enough to represent them all fairly. And he works hard…hard enough to represent the diverse elements that make up Springfield with bias toward none. He is married to School Committee woman Denise Rosemond Hurst whose qualifications, accomplishments and popularity match his and they are raising two fine sons.
Justin Hurst represents the change that Springfield needs. ■
