Pahmusa Museum held an International Underground Railroad Month Event. Cynthia St. Juste portrayed Sanite Belair in an outdoor theatrical and dance event. She was accompanied by drummers L to R: Lamont Scott, Hosea Shabazz and Tarrence Proctor.

The Mason Square C3 coordinators City Councilor Tracye Whitfield, Richard Johnson and Officer Samantha Jones held a flag raising of the Black American Heritage Flag at the Mason Square memorial. Representatives of community organizations including NABVETS, Old Hill Neighborhood Council, Mason Square Veterans Group, Muhammad’s Mosque #13, MOCHA and Fresh Anointing COGIC attended. Dr. Paula Starnes represented the families of the five Springfield servicemen who were killed in Vietnam and whose names are on the memorial.
