Springfield Public Schools food service provider Sodexo announced today that a daily snack will be added to the distribution of breakfast, lunch and dinner effective immediately. To date, Sodexo has served 195,162 meals to Springfield Public Schools students since the program began on March 12th. Free breakfasts, lunches, dinners and snacks are available every weekday for all Springfield students during the current school closure. The meals are grab-and-go and are available between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Monday – Friday at 17 locations throughout the City.
No identification is required, and parents, guardians or grandparents may pick up meals for their Springfield students. Adults picking up a dinner or snack for a student must provide the student’s name due to regulation imposed today by the USDA. Names are not required for families only picking up breakfast and lunch. Sodexo said the USDA requests the names only to track the dinner distributions meals and that they are used for no other purpose.
