The Power of She: A Final Farewell and a Lasting Tribute

Art for the Soul Gallery will unveil a landmark exhibition, The Power of She, in September 2025. More than an art show, this compelling gathering will serve as both a celebration of women’s and femmes’ creative forces and a heartfelt dedication to Rosemary Tracy Woods — the Gallery’s Founding Director — honoring her decades of commitment to the arts.
For over twenty years, Woods has been a champion for women and femmes artists, often creating space for those who might otherwise go unseen and unheard in the larger art world. The Power of She continues in that tradition, transforming what was once her annual tribute to women into a culminating statement of her life’s work: a testament to resilience, creativity, and the indomitable spirit of women and femmes.
Each artist featured in the exhibition was handpicked by the gallery’s team to showcase the work of women and femmes whose voices and visions deserve to be seen, heard, and celebrated. Their pieces represent a rich spectrum of mediums, perspectives, and personal histories, yet all are connected by a shared strength of expression. Together, they form a tapestry that honors women and femmes as storytellers, truth-bearers, and cultural visionaries.
The exhibition reflects a belief that art is both a mirror and a catalyst — a way to reclaim narratives, challenge stereotypes, and elevate voices that history has too often silenced. Visitors will encounter works that speak to identity, heritage, justice and resilience, each inviting reflection on the enduring influence of women and femmes in shaping our world.
In the current political and social climate, where many still feel their voices are marginalized, The Power of She seeks to spark dialogue and inspire connection. It invites viewers to consider the many forms “She” can take — not only as Mother Earth, but also as the force behind cultural revolutions, community building, and the everyday acts of courage that shape society.
“This show is not just for me,” Woods has often said in reflecting on her past tributes. “It’s for every woman I’ve worked with over the last 20-plus years, for everyone who has ever been told their art, their voice, their presence wasn’t enough. It’s proof that we are still here, still speaking, still creating.”
Though The Power of She marks the end of a chapter in Woods’s leadership, the gallery’s mission and momentum continue under the stewardship of Executive Director Sierra Myers and Gallery Manager Christina White. Both women bring their own vision, expertise, and commitment to ensuring Art for the Soul Gallery remains a vibrant and inclusive space for artists and audiences alike. Artistic Director Billy Myers remains an integral part of the team, continuing to present beautifully curated exhibitions.
The exhibition will open with an Artist Reception on Sunday, September 28, 2025, from 4–7 PM. Admission is free, and the public is warmly invited to experience this final, deeply personal tribute to women’s and femmes’ art and spirit. Art for the Soul Gallery is located on the second floor of Tower Square. ■
